Salary Information:Typical hiring wage - $18.27/hr at Step 1

Monday, Tuesday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Wednesday: 8:00 am - 630 pm
Rotates every 4 weeks :
Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Job Duties Include:
Performs clerical and administrative functions such as correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, providing information to callers and providing direct assistance to clients. The purpose of the Clinic Receptionist is to provide welcoming and supportive experience for every patient by ensuring efficient front desk operations, clear communication, and unwavering professionalism and confidentiality. Through positive first impressions and a service-oriented approach, this role helps build lasting trust within our community. Performs a variety of clerical duties including filing, scheduling appointments, working client charts, operating a computer, copiers, adding machine and fax machine. Receives and processes payments for services and maintains records of payments. Maintains nursing clinic cash drawer daily. Processes and enters data into spreadsheets and or databases. (KSWebIZ, etc.) Receives, processes and routes mail and sends correspondence as appropriate. Performs check-in and check-out of clients through nursing clinic and processes encounters, maintains client charts and immunization records though electronic health record system. Checks/verifies client’s insurance/medical coverage for various services via KMAP, BCBS, etc. Answers the telephone and gives information to callers, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate Staff. Orders supplies as needed for nursing clinic for copiers, etc.Must complete the National Incident Management System training. Maintains certification in CPR, completes yearly blood-borne pathogen training and reports for work during public health emergencies as needed. Performs other duties as needed.

Determined Work Level: Level 3 Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Ability to communicate by the spoken word. Ability to hear. Must be able to give direction to Staff and clients. May require walking, standing, bending, balancing, sitting, lifting equipment and stooping. May have to lift, push, carry or pull up to 50 pounds. Possible exposure to infectious pathogens, blood and body fluids, and hazardous waste. May be exposed to a variety of work environments including outside of health department buildings in all weather conditions. May be subjected to highly volatile and stressful situations involving clients and/or families. Work may provide occasional weekend and/or evening work and be on-call. Must have fine and gross motor skills ability. Must be able to operate computer, telephone, and copy/fax machine.
